  • P2 Log and Transfer Not Working

I’m trying to import footage transferred from a P2 card into Final Cut. I have everything from the P2 cards (.txt file and everything) but when I try to use the Log and Transfer function nothing happen. No error message, no footage, nothing.

I can, however, import the .mxf files of the footage and audio but I do not want to edit those, and I do not want to spend the time to sync every take either.

I’ve tried FCPRescue 6, zapping my PRAM, repairing disk permissions, uninstalling Perian, and restarting my comp multiple times.

Any help on the issue is appreciated. Thanks.

Have clicked on the Add Folder in the upper left hand corner?

Yeah, that’s how I want to do it, thought the Log and Transfer window.

Add folder, navigate to P2 folder with Contents and .txt file and click Open.

Do you have FX Factory installed? Version 1 and 2 interfered with P2 import. Removing thep plugin from the FXPlug folder, or updating to 2.0.1 (free for version 2), will fix this.

I did have FX Factory installed. I tried uninstalling it and deleting all it’s components as well as moving my whole Plugins folder to the trash so see if any others might be affecting it. Still, though, I’m running into the same problem.

Anyone else have a guess as to what I could try? I haven’t un/reinstalled Final Cut Studio yet… and I hope it doesn’t come to that. Thank you all for your help so far.
