I have done one P2 project using the Panasonic 200 camera, worked fine, all files imported seemlessly and the edit and output were fine.
I am now working on a short film shot on a Panasonic HPX 502. I attended the camera testing days and files imported and opened fine. The first two cards from the shoot transferred, via my laptops pcmia slot to a FW HD, and imported to FCP just fine. from Day 2 on I have an issue. All the material is on the External HD but FCP will not log and transfer. I had followed all the Shane Ross info on recreating the txt files and have double checked them, they are entered to the letter. Still no joy. It seems such a short distance from external HD to FCP, same 2Tb HD, but no, it will not read. If anyone has any thoughts, suggestions I would be a happy camper as would the director and crew who have yet to see a frame in FCP. I will say that I am not a technical person in the usual sense and so please be clear with the answers, maybe it’s because I am a kiwi 🙂 Thanks.

I followed Shanes posting from DV Creators religiously and it worked perfectly so far. I went back and created Folders to match the P2 cards, placed the contents folder and the txt file in that folder as separate elements and it worked, I nearly bloody cried. Gratitude springs to mind. Gratitude that the Cow community exists, even down in the Southern Pacific in the middle of winter. Thanks guys, R.

many thanks Shane, we are 5 hours behind but a day ahead here in the shaky isles and so it was 2:30 am when I read your info slowly and carefully. We don’t always have the budgets, there is but one Peter Jackson in NZ, to hire assistants and so it is good to know the Cow is there, grazie amigo, Richard.
