    Greetings:
I am trying to import footage from two P2 cards.
I used a PC laptop to ingest the footage from the P2 cards to an external HD. I used the technic Shane Ross showed in his video tutorial. Creating a generic Project folder. Then adding 2 folders to that. One for each card. Then dragged the footage from each P2 card into its own folder. Then plugged the external HD into my Mac system. I then used the FCP Log and Transfer window to get the footage into FCP. But I get nothing. I tried importing each folder individually, also tried importing both folders at the same time as the footage spans over the two P2 cards. Nothing. I tried transferring the footage to my local HD as well as to my RAID. I tried to capture the footage from all of the different HD’s and again nothing.
When I click the button to choose the folder to import it takes me through the motion of choosing the folder etc. But when I choose the folder nothing appears in the log and transfer window.
I had a similar problem last week but after restarting FCP and the computer it worked out fine. Not this time. I have tried trashing the FCP preferences as well as multiple restarts both of FCP and the computer itself. I know the footage is there because I can watch it on the PC via P2 Viewer software. I also checked to make sure the files were the same size on the Mac and the PC.
I have tried to be thorough in my description. Maybe I am missing something.
    Any advice would be great.
    Thanks
    DT

How is the drive formatted? It might be an OS Level issue if it was PC formatted.

I was thinking the same thing. I have the camera in house today, so I plan on trying to import from the camera direct to the Mac vs using the PC as a go between.
    Thanks

Are you sure that you have the lastclip.txt file for each card? FCP will not import with out this. And be sure that you selected the folder containing both the Contents folder and the lastclip file.

In other words in this scenario you should chose the Card001 folder: Card001>Contents and lastclip.txt.
