P2 Format Error – Card Won’t Mount
Hi there~
We have a 16 GB P2 E Series card that will not mount. We were shooting with the HVX200, and filled the card. The card was then put into a Powerbook G4 directly in the PCI slot to copy off to the external hard drive. The computer recognized the card Halfway through the transfer the computer locked up and froze. I had to force the computer down to restart it. When the computer came back up – the card was would not mount. I put it in another PowerBook G4 as well as a MacBook Pro, and in the other 2 computers, also the card was not recognized. Then I put the card back in the camera – and it said there was a “format error”.The card is recognized under Disk Utility, but if you run verify, it says it needs to be repaired, and if you try repair, it says:
Verify and Repair disk “NO NAME”
** /dev/disk1s1
Unknown filesystem version: f.ff
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit1 non HFS volume checked
1 volume could not be repaired because of an errorIf anyone has had a similar experience – and has some feedback -that would be greatly appreciated. Not sure how it has become unreadable, as the computer was not “writing to the card” it was only reading from it.
Thanks,
Andrea
