  P2 footage gets darker upon import

  When I import my P2 footage into FCP, the image gets darker. When I preview the footage in the Log and Transfer Window and compare it to the same exact clip imported into the canvas, the brightness of the two are drastically different.
  Has anyone else had this problem and know why it does this? Can I fix this somehow? Thank you for any help you can give me.
