I work for a company which shoots on p2 and we are editing with Final Cut Pro systems using Final Cut server. So we take all our p2 footage and convert it for FCP. Recently we were asked for some HD footage by a post house that uses AVID composer on a PC. They sent us a new hard drive that was formated PHAT 32. We made quick time files and made sure none were bigger than 4 gig and put them on the drive and mailed the drive back to them. Now they tell us they can’t open our files. Can anyone suggest to me what we might be doing wrong or how we need to transfer our footage so they can see the HD footage on a Avid PC?

    Thanks, MIKE

The Avid will be able to read the original P2 mediafiles, in their original file structure. The PC Avid will not be able to read anything that is in the OSX-only DVCPRO-HD codec that FCP uses.

What codec did you use when you imported the P2 footage in FCP?
