  • P2 footage degradation over time…

I have some P2 footage (720 24p) I have been working with for about a month now. Just lately, it seems to be dropping frames/glitching in the timeline. It started with one clip, then a few more clips, it seems as though the problem is getting worse over time. The original clips on the external drive are unscathed. However, when I lay-off a QT movie for burning these glitches are still there…

I have the footage on a 250 gig external drive

Is there a solution or issue I’m not aware of? Thanks for the help.

    4 gig ram
    80 gig internal
    2 external firewire

Sounds like a bad hard drive, P2 is not like a banana it doesn’t spoil over time.
