P2 Firestore files won’t import spanned file
Trying to import a 24Gig ‘file’ from a hard drive transferred from a Firestore. P2 import shows the icon and the name of the first segment of the spanned files. The word (spanned) appears in brackets. The file will not play or import. Footage is 720 24PN.
FCP 5.1.4 OSX 10.4.10
Same problem occurs on both a Dual 2.0 Ghz G5 and G4 Laptop with identical software.
If I delete the first XML file which referes to the first segment – FCP recognizes all the other ‘incomplete’ segments and will import them as separate files. The trouble is that the first 5min segment is the most crucial material . . .

Is the file in P2 format or Quicktime format? If Quicktime, just import the files/folder directly. You don’t use the P2 log and capture for that. Also the Firestore breaks the video into 2 GB clips. If you have one 24GB clip there is something wrong.
