Hello – I am trying to import P2 files but none of the preset sequence settings seem to match. Here are the properties of one of the files I am trying to import:

    Type: P2 Movie
    File Size: 606.6 MB
    Image Size: 960 x 720
    Pixel Depth: 0
    Frame Rate: 29.97 (24p)
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 16 bit – Mono
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 32 bit floating point – Mono
    Total Duration: 00:00:44:05
Average Data Rate: 13.7 MB / second
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.3333

Can anyone suggest the best sequence settings to use?
Thank you so much for the help.

Thank you so much for the suggestion, but I am unable to get the tutorial to play.

I have read all the threads listed and have the classroom book and I try to set the correct seetings according to this information but each time I get the red lines and frames drop.

Has anyone worked with files with these same properties that can tell me the settings that worked for them? I am at a complete standstill on my project right now so would really appreciate the help.

    Thank you!

PPRO (CS4 4.1) on MAC seems to have big troubles importing P2 files. We are getting a frame size error and there is no workaround we can figure out. had to take the job over to a PC AXIO system to get it done….

    Anyone??

The preset for P2 media is the DVCPRO HD preset. Your framerate should be either 29.97 or 24p, not both, but that’s not terribley important. Make sure however that when you export, you change your framesize to 1280×720, and your pixel aspect ratio to square. If you run into any issues, let me know.

Thank you, William, for the suggestions, however, when I try to follow the advice, I have no options with what you are suggesting. There is no option under DVCPRO HD to change the frame size to 1280×720 or the pixels to square. Not quite sure what the problem is, but thank you for trying.
