April 24, 2007 at 12:09 amSo when I try to open footage in fcp I am also getting “not found” and error: out of memory now as well. The footage is in fcp.mov format and some files play fine some dont work at all? Cant figure it out. is there a change in the file when I drag files from my laptop to my citidisk and back?

April 24, 2007 at 6:05 pmmake sure that you copy all of the card contents, including the entire CONTENTS folder along with the LASTCLIP.txt file.
i would also recommend upgrading FCP from 5.0.4 to 5.1.4. Apple made some significant P2 improvements over those versions, including the ability to play back a MXF file in the P2 Import window without having to extract a Quicktime file. you still need to extract a Quicktime file to edit in FCP though.

April 26, 2007 at 6:10 amCould be this (I’ve had it happen):
Make SURE none of the digitized files in your capture scratch have the same name if they will be needed in the same project!
In particular, it’s easy to have one clip called “Untitled” in one capture folder, and then another clip also called “Untitled” in a different capture folder. IF those QT video files with the same name are forced to meet in the same sequence, the messages you will get are “Not found” and then the ridiculous “Error: Out of memory” message.
Let’s hope Apple will improve their error messages to logically say what the problem is!
Best,
