    Hello,

I can’t seem to import P2 footage into FCP.

I recently upgraded to FCP 6.0.4 and haven’t had problems until now. The previous version of FCP, I had no problems. I’d just “import”, “panasonic P2” and it was good to go.

Under “import” where it normally says “Panasonic P2”, that just isn’t there. Is there some kind of install I need to do with the new version of FCP?

I have P2 Log Pro and can view the clips, and they work, but I can’t seem to find a reason why the import option is gone now.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks so much

You need to go to file import log and transfer. your footage should pop up and you have more options when capturing this way. here is a good tutorial if you need more help.

It is now called LOG AND TRANSFER, as it handles many tapeless formats, not just P2. So FILE>LOG & TRANSFER.

    Awesome, thanks for the help.

I’ve watched your tutorial and followed the steps, but when I select the folder that my contents and lastclip file are in, nothing happens. It just goes back to the original log and transfer screen there are no files in the transfer window.

Any thoughts as to what that could mean?

    Thanks again

haha yep, I was just coming here to say that I worked it out, and it was FX Factory but you beat me to it 🙂

A previous worker had installed FX Factory, but it never was a problem until the FCP upgrade

Thanks again for the help. Much appreciated!
