I’m working in a DVCPRO HD sequence– 960×720, 720p60, 23.98 timebase. After log and transfer, the data rate for my p2 clips are 5.9 MB/s…IS THAT CORRECT? I thought it would be higher…

    any help appreciated.

    Nope…that’s right. I get between 5.6 and 5.9.

This is because DVCPRO HD is a compressed HD format….but also because you are working with footage at 23.98 fps. DVCPRO HD at 59.94 fps is 12.6MB/s.

I know…I know…I too was shocked at first that it was so little. That I could use a FIREWIRE drive to work with this format. But…you can.
