That would be called the AJ-PCD20, Firewire 800 as one of its connections.

Now that you have re installed, MAKE a Bootable back up OS onto an external hard drive, they are dirt cheap and will save your bacon when things go west in the OS.
I use Carbon copy cloner and it can install only the altered files in a Bcak up, that just takes a few minutes to restore an OS that is misbehaving.Cheers

If your running Leopard OS, make sure you format your Spare OS drive as “GUID” not mac extended ect.
it’s a choice in Disk utility.
