    Hi,

In order to import files from a P2 Card into FCP
on an Apple laptop do you have to use a usb or
    Firewire P2 card adaptor?

The PCMCIA slot on a 17″ Powerbook doesn’t recognise the card.

I find a Pana brochure which mentioned that this feature was only
    supported on the Win platform.

Anyone can enlighten me and share their experience ?

    Regards

This problem was brought up at Panasonic’s P2/HVX200 seminar last week at the DV Expo in New York. One person said they were able to solve the problem by installing a Unix driver for the laptop’s PCMCIA slot. Jan Critteden Livingston, the Panasonic rep, said the problem is an Apple issue and to contact Apple.

    Good luck.

I think the problem will be solved when the 200 is out. At the moment you import the P2 data either through the camera and USB or you have a p2 card reader which is 2500 quit (a hell of a lot of money for a card reader) The import of the P2 data in FCP works excellent.
