    Can you connect both Mac and Windows formatted Firewire drives to the HVX 200. Or can they only be Windows format. We have a client who wants to transfer clips from the P2 card in the camera to a firewire drive when on location. The take the drive to a FCP suite.

    Well, let’s clarify something — it doesn’t matter what format the drives are, because the HVX will RE-FORMAT them.

    For that reason, you never want to use a drive that already has stuff on it. You need to use a drive that’s dedicated solely to use for offloading from the HVX.

    And when doing so, the HVX formats the drive as FAT32, so it’s compatible with both Mac & Windows systems.
