We just bought a CardBus card reader to install in my Windows 7 desktop so we can load P2 cards directly into our NLE workstation. We have it working, but it seems slow (initial tests are about 5MB/second).

What do others do to transfer P2 cards into their Windows PC? What speeds to you see? We have 2 64GB P2 cards, so speed is important.

I did a bit more research and find that the CardBus spec is rated to a maximum of 132MB/sec. That would be about 8.1 minutes to transfer a full 64GB P2 card. That’s the maximum … I am wondering what folks are seeing in practice.

Sometimes half the battle when troubleshooting is knowing where the finish line is!
