    hi all.
i’m renting a 200 from a friend, along with a aj-pcd10 (the 5 slot p2 card reader) – my friend thinks that he damaged the firewire port on the camera, and sure enough my G5 does not see the camera when connected to it via firewire.

so he also loaned me the card reader with the install disk.

i’ve installed the software 3 times now to 2 different hard drives, and my g5 (older dp 1.8) doesn’t see the cards insterted in the card reader at all. its connected via usb2.

about every other time i reinsert a card, or cycle the power on the pcd10 unit, the mac will tell me that i removed a hard disk without trashing it, and tells me not to do that, that i might lose the data. but the device never mounted in the first place.

about every 5 times i cycle the power on the unit, i get a folder on the desktop called ‘no name’ which the machine won’t let me open.

i seem to be stuck. any ideas?

Same problem w/Mac G4 Powerbook; Same improper disconnect prompt. USB connection not mac friendly. Newer PCD20 has FW800/400/USB 2.0 connections and is supposed to work w/Macs.

yeah, we tried on on my friends macbook pro, and even though the unit worked before on his machine, the same thing happened this time.

    we’re both TOTALLY mystified.
    any help would be appreciated!
