    Hello,

It is taking me about 1 hour to download a 32 gig p2 card. I’m using an old G4 1.25 powerbook, LaCie Rugged Firewire 800 drive and P2 CMS software. I select all the clips in P2 CMS, go to menu/export and make sure it checks each file.

I’m wondering how long it is taking others and if there is a better method. Would Shot Put Pro work any faster?

    Thanks for your insight.

Typically it is 1GB a min. SHotput Pro actually verifies the data, so it might take a tad longer. So like 45 min for a 32GB card.

Never use P2CMS…so dunno what is up there. Can’t be the laptop, that is what I use. But, I admit I haven’t had the pleasure of a 32GB card yet…

[Shane Ross] “SHotput Pro actually verifies the data, so it might take a tad longer.”

So does P2CMS if you choose to. P2CMS does a more rigorous verify than Shotput Pro, if you choose the fastest verify on Shotput Pro. SHotput Pro can also do a byte level verification which will take longer.

I believe Shotput Pro will be a little faster with the fastest verification (which is basically a sum check, 28.4GB on the card = 28.4 GB on the destination drive).
