    hi all,
i’ve been trying to copy / export / ingest data via duel adapter to my RAID and after a while, the P2 (32G) card disappears from my desktop and the mac tells me i disconnected it, which of course i didn’t.
when i try via P2CMS, the mac crashes.
any ideas what might be happening?
my supplier is off till monday and i need to do some urgent work till then
    thanks in advance,
    attila

The “crash” makes me feel there’s something wrong with the computer. But eliminate the obvious, first: have you checked your connections for any loose wires? Next I’d try process of elimination – can you use the Dual Adapter successfully with a different Mac? If so, the problem is with your Mac. Try repairing your permissions on the Mac and also running a disk repair utility. If that doesn’t work, perhaps reinstall any software that the Dual Adapter needs (I don’t use the Dual Adapter, so I’m just guessing here).

I’m having a similar problem. Can’t get my mac to take the P2 card info. Never been a problem before. By any chance have you updated your mac with the new MobileMe stuff? I was having no problems before I added that (as it creates a new MobileMe iDisk in the “Cloud”) Maybe this has something to do with it?

thanks for the advice, it turns out that 1 of the video files was somehow corrupted. i transferred all files manually via finder and found the one that kept on crashing the system – and then lost it / didn’t transfer that one.
after formatting the card in the camera, i shot more stuff and transferred (export via P2CMS) everything as usual without any problems.
my supplier simply told me that “..it happens” … i just hope it won’t happen too often.
    thanks anyhow
