There is none outside the Duel Systems adapter. Unless you start looking at the Panasonic P2 Gear and 5-card reader.

    Or wait until July.

The Sonnet Qio (that’s Que Eye Oh) is going to be a game chnager. 4 SATA ports, 2 PCMCIA slots (along with 2 CF and 2 Express 34) for $995.

It’s a dual channel card reader that supprts all types of cards. Saw it at NAB. Sweet!

they had 2 f2s hooked to the Qio all going back to the MacBook Pro via a custom Sata connection and custom Express34 card…so yes, all that and more!

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks so much for checking out The Qio, Sonnet will make a Bundle form this reader, It’s been a long wait for such a unit, I wish them all the success, (mine will be ordered shortly)
With the release of the E series P2 cards and now this , it will drive Panasonic P2 back to the Head of the pack in Pro video I believe.

    Cheers

    Hi Tom:

Perhaps I am being a bit thick here but why would I buy this only for a MBP instead of the Duel? I see that this new Qio interfaces with the MBP via the Express card slot?

So does this mean this is really only a significant new product for desktop users and not laptop users? If I owned a PB G4 (wife is using it but I could grab it back for shoots) or I do own a MBP and Duel, what would be the point of this product?

In the edit bay with a MacPro, I can see the appeal but for shoots in the field, I don’t see a $995.00 advantage.

Or perhaps I am just not getting something about it?

    Thanks,

    Dan
