    Hi

I’m about to grade a project (cut in FCP)that has some Picture in Picture shots in Resolve. In Color I would obviously just left the PinP on track 2 and round tripped the whole thing to FCP. I’m guessing that I can’t totally finish this in Resolve and need to send it to FCP and rerender or does anyone have a smarter workflow suggestion?

    Thanks

    mike

How complicated is the picture in picture effect? I haven’t tried it yet, but I imagine you could bake a quicktime then export a matte based on the PIP. Tracking would work too.

I would just make two nodes with windows.
One for big pick inverted and the other for small and set blur to 0 for both.

It only works if you do not need any really detailed selection etc.

In the other hand i just would do pip parts just one after the other and grade separately if needed?

    thanks,
Some of them have a lot of movement so i think for this one i’ll just bake in.
    Roll on multitrack in Resolve
