    Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone had used a OWC Mercury On-The-Go external HDD via firewire with Final Cut Studio 2?

I have a MBP and I’m looking for a /small/ sized external hdd to edit things in the field with.

Most often I would either be editing in SD dv25, HDV, or XDCam HD. If I was in XDCAM HD or HDV, I wouldn’t have more than one or two streams max. I might have more streams with SD though.

The only thing that concerns me about the On the go’s is the fact that they’re all 5400rpm instead of my preferred 7200… Will this still work for FCP?

If not, can someone recommend a small sized external with 7200 RPMs pref. around 500GB with bus power?

    Thanks in advance

So would something like the G-Raid Mini (https://www.g-technology.com/products/G-RAID-mini.cfm) be suitable then?

edit: Belay my last. Found the answer. Thanks for the response! 😀
