    Hello everyone,

i’ve been using Final Cut Pro for 7 years now, and i just had someone learning the program ask me how to do something that i had absolutely no idea how to do, and after hearing him say it, i can’t believe i don’t know how to do it and i can’t believe final cut can’t do it. Hopefully someone knows.

We’ve got an interview on V1 and A1A2. We want to drop in Broll without audio from the viewer. How do we do it? i’ve always just locked all the audio tracks and video tracks not in use when it gets time to drop in Broll. i feel like there’s got to be a better way.

    Thanks!

disconnect the source from the audio track. Next to the green audio buttons, you’ll see two connected icons that will say a1 and A1. click a1. it should move a little to the left. Repeat for track 2. now drop your broll on the timeline, and no audio will come with it.

To expand on the principle. if you drag a1 to A3, and a2 to A4, when you place your clip on the timeline, the audio will land on A3 and A4.
