  • Overriding scene detection in HDV capture

I am capturing HDV 1080i and I notice that it does not capture the full clip that I set with my in/out points. Instead, it is capturing individual clips everytime there was a tape pause (scene detection, I think it’s called) instead of capturing one long clip. How do I override this? I don’t see anything in the System Preferences or setup. Thanks.

It’s the nature of the MPEG-2 GOIP structure that breaks at every shot change. With most cameras there is no way to prevent this. It’s a consequence of the format that you’re shooting.

    All the best,

OK. I’m new to HDV. Thanks for the clarification. I can live with it.
