Overriding media in/outs?
Posted by Peter Dewit on October 19, 2007 at 1:41 pmDoes anyone know if there’s a way to manually change the media in/out points in FCP 6? More specifically I want the audio and video media timecodes to match on some clips that the audio TC is different.
Thanks

“Try to rephrase that one more time. I’m not watching over your shoulder.
Meantime, look in the manual for auxiliary timecode.

October 19, 2007 at 2:32 pmOk allow me to explain a little further. I used automatic duck for some media files. There is apparently a bug in FCP that is making Final Cut not correctly interpret the timecode in aiff files.
I’m ending up with clips that have the correct media ins and outs for the video but audio media always starts at zero.

Give your AIFF files a reel number and they will be treated like tape sources, and the timecode will be preserved.
You can also do what you are suggesting by loading it into the viewer and using the Modify/Timecode command.

Thanks
