override DVDA warnings?
In creating subtitles in DVDA, is there any way to override the warnings about the placement and complexity of the subtitles?

Can’t you just ignore them? Or are you wanting the warnings to not appear?

You can’t just ignore them because the finish button is greyed out until you adjust them to the “dvd specification.” I will be showing this on a computer through a projector so the safe area doesn’t matter and I’d rather have the subtitles lower on the screen.

Ok, I just started a new DVD project, added a video clip, went into the video clip, added a sub-title track, added a single sub-title event to that track, and moved the sub-title to the lower left-hand corner. I then clicked on Make DVD, told it to prepare, and was able to go through all the screens with no warnings at all about the sub-title placement. This test was run on DVD A 3.0b (that machine hasn’t yet been updated to 3.0c).
I then moved the subtitle so that it was half off and half on the screen. Still no warnings. You sure you don’t have a sub-title that’s too complex/too long somewhere?
What version of DVD A are you using?

Thanks Ed. I did need to upgrade, but the real problem is that some of my subtitles are too long, I guess. The error I is get is “too complex due to one or more horizontal lines.” Sometimes making it smaller in size works to clear the error for a particular subtitle, and sometimes I must break it into two to fix it. It’s certainly doable, just time consuming and irritating as I get a result which not the way I want the screen to look.
