    Here’s how I’d approach it:

    1) Duplicate the clip of the woman and stack a copy on top.

    2) Put the clip of the man on top of both of them. Now you should have a stack of 3 clips.

    3) Crop the clip of the man using the “crop & feather” effect instead of the normal crop in the clip properties. Adjust the “width” and the “x position” until you have it where you like it. Lower the feather to get rid of the hard edge

    4) Do the same thing for the second shot of the woman (not the bottom clip, the middle clip)

    5) For the very bottom clip adjust its color or opacity to soften it.

    So the idea is using the “Crop and Feather” effect you can get rid of the hard edge, and by having 2 copies of the clip of the woman you can adjust the colors of the left and right separately. Having a feather on the woman’s clip will allow you to blend the 2 clips if you have different color effects for both.
