Does anyone know how to overlap audio but NOT video in Sony Vegas 9 please?
I can’t work out how to ‘lead’ sound before the picture edit. Pretty basic stuff, so I’m probably being stoopid, but I need help!

I would overlap both to start. Then select both video and audio events on the second clip and hit the “U” key to unlink them, then drag the edge of left edge of the video event to the right until it snaps even with the end of the first video event.

    Perfect. Simple but brilliant!
    Thank you so much Danny!

If you ungroup an audio track from its video, remember to re-group them after tweaking the fades (G).

To temporarily ignore the grouping without actually ungrouping video/audio, click the “Ignore Event Grouping” toolbar button or press Ctrl+Shift+U to toggle this. It will let you move, trim, fade etc on only the audio or video.
