Are there many outside FX companies that write their software for Edius?
    NewBlueFX, Boris, etc?

    Hi,

I never really used Edius, just tried it. That time It was 5.0 I think.
[Ron Whitaker] “Oh, and as far as price for Edius, I found it here on BH Photo for $474, cheaper than Vegas’ $599.”
That’s at least comparable for those who don’t have anything bought yet ?

[Ron Whitaker] “in the latest (8.22) Edius does all the above, and then some: importing media, 4k, editing, dvd authoring. Done!”

So you say, Edius can now prepare DVD (Bluray?) with menus, multiple angles, audio tracks on a disc?
    That is really competitive 🙂

    Best regards

I am a Edius WG 8.22 Pro user as well as a Vegas user since vesion 4. Edius was my “fall back to” program if Vegas did not rise to the occasion. I have become proficient Edius user, it is staggering what it can do (codecs and processing, rendering smokes!), but, Awkward in how it does it. Like learning to drive in UK, steering wheel on other side, other side of the road ect.
I started with Edius pro 6, WG Pro 8 is much better. New Blue FX stuff, Boris, and Hitfilm plugins work in Edius WG8. The difference in Work Group Pro 8 and Pro 8 primarily is, you have to be on internet regularly to check in to keep “Pro 8” working, a parole officer version, but just a one time pmt. WG Pro 8 on the other hand is paid, you own it, activate done deal.

I am still a Vegas fan and HOPE they get it together, I can work on Vegas blindfolded (so to speak).
But I am continuing to learn driving on the other side of the road with Edius rather than “just” waiting to see, if Magix raises Vegas up. I did invest in the upgrade, just as a “risky investment’ and I still use SVP13 and now MVP14, in case.

Magix support, is bottom of the barrel at this time contacting them is entering “the Black Hole” (hope that changes)
Edius support is decent a little slow on critical support, not the best out there, but, they do get back to you.
    Boris support is great!
New Blue support is very good!
    Red Giant is great also!

Considering the amount of time Magix had to put out “their” next version, I am super happy. What did everyone expect? Absolutely everything fixed and every feature added already? That’s crazy.

For me, I purchased MVP 14 WITH the suite and I couldn’t be happier. I already can’t wait to see what they do with 15. Keep up the good work!
