over-cranked ProRes422
Used to be able to take 59.94 DVCProHD footage on a 29.97 FCP timeline and do a 50% speed conversion in FCP to stretch out frames over timeline to get a true 50% slowmo.
Captured ProRess 422 via Kona3 directly this time @59.94. Checked footage – all 59.94 frames exists. Dropping that into a 29.97 ProRes timeline in FCP and doing a 50% slowmo gives you fade-interpolated slowmo vs seeing the actual 59.94 frames at 29.97. It’s like a conversion happens the moment the clip is droppen on the timeline. Sigh…
I guess doing a separate conform to turn 59.94 into 29.97 is the only way if you’re going ProRess from the start? Any other short workaround anyone is aware of?
THnx.
