    Hi there,

I am delivering a TVC today for UK TV broadcast and just wanted to clear a few things up as this is my first time.

I have the TVC in After Effects at 1920×1080 and have rendered with animation 100% codec. I then import this into Final Cut and export as 720×576, prores 4444, 25fps.

What I am not sure about is the pixel aspect ratio and if I check animorphic or not. Also does it make a difference if I re-comp to 720×576 and render straight in AE.

Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

You can do this entirely in AE — and avoid FCP’s scaling.

Create a new comp using the PAL D1/DV Widescreen preset. Drop your main comp in and scale it to fit. Render directly to ProRes (which should be available on your system if you have FCP installed).

Thanks for the quick reply even if it does mean another 3 2hour renders!

Yikes! If you’ve already output 1920x1080p25, you can just import them back in, scale them into the comp as above, and output that.

Yeah I did realise that after the first one. Thanks for your input.

After a very long two weeks I my brain doesn’t work as logically as it should.
