Outputting movie from FCP4 to iDVD to burn DVD
Hi – I need to output a 34 minute film from FCP 4 to iDVD to burn the highest quality DVD I can. The material is NTSC. I have done it before, and got completely confused on returning to it.
1)Is it OK to use – (not +) DVDs to be viewed on a US DVD player?
2)I mark in and out points, on the time line, then FILE>EXPORT>QuickTime Movie…
Then I get lost. Do I then take that movie using QT Conversion and Sorenson 3 it? I’ve done that and it looks and sounds terrible even using the ‘BEST’ quality.
As a final check, what format of file should i be dragging into the iDVD project? FCP Project file, FCP Movie File or a QuickTime Movie, and what size would you expect it to be. One of the QT movies is 11GBs and only looks ‘OK’ (compressed using VIDEO and BEST). The other problem about the QT movies is that they don’t take the chapter markers with them, and they’re important for the presentation of the movie.
THANKS! to anyone who has time to help out there. Arabella
