    Hello,

A client is requesting a Windows Media version of a project we just completed. I just upgraded to Version 7 of AE a couple of weeks ago and this is the first request for that format. I use to be able to do this in previous versions, but I can’t seem to find that preset in the Output module.

Does anyone know if it is still possible in AE Version 7 ? I suppose we could temporarily reinstall 6.5, but if there is a better way to accomplish this I’d appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks

    Dave

you may be able to ‘export’ a wmv file using the ‘export’ function in the file menu (rather than trying to render via make movie or add to render queue). i have ae7 (pro) on a macpro, and i can see windows media and avi as export options. there may be limitations, i have not exported one and taken it to a pc to test, but it seems possible to create a wmv in ae.

i have heard that some are unable to find these options, but i don’t have anything particularly special on this mac, although i do have the free version of flip4mac’s wmv palyer inastalled, but that isn’t supposed to allow any encoding features, just decoding within qt.

Thanks Dave and Moldyboot. I found I can export as an AVI which will work in this case, and I think we’ll just get a copy of flip4mac for the next time this comes up.

    Thanks again guys
