August 11, 2005 at 1:59 pmDid you run any output tests? We performed about 4 or 5 output tests when we had to master to HDCAM for a network. The first two were to ensure frame accuracy on the edit. The second two were partial episodes for network Quality Control to check our workflow and color correction. The last was a full episode laid to tape for a final Quality Control check before we posted all 7 episodes.
You’ll most likely need to adjust the Playback Offset at some point and check all your levels are correct on the scope. Blacks and Playback offset are the biggies that came into play on our end.

Will obviously have to do a couple of Playback Offset tests to make sure we’re frame accurate on the edit. Coming out of Kona 2 (K-Box) via SDI and monitoring via component to PVM-20L5/1. Do you have a starting point?
Thanks for the speedy reply Walter!

August 11, 2005 at 2:41 pmThe standard HDCAM Sony Deck control is a great starting point as it already has an offset built in. Start there and adjust as necessary.
have fun!
