  • Output to 4k HDMI and 1080 SDI

I am on the hunt for an IO option that will let me output 1080 to my production monitor via SDI and 4k to my TV via HDMI. They both don’t have to output at the same time.

I purchased a Blackmagic 4k mini monitor card but it seems it will only send 4k to my TV and nothing to my production monitor. Reading more on it it seems since its going through thunderbolt (via sonnet pcie box) that Premiere won’t probably convert the signal.

So is there some other device or card that will perform both of these functions for me? I have a T-Tap already but that doesn’t do 4k.

    Thanks

    Hi Amy,

I used Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4K a few years ago to output 4K HDMI to big screen & 1080 HD-SDI to TVLogic broadcast screen.

Currently, I am using Ultrastudio mini 4K which also able to manipulate HDMI & SDI separately & the price is reasonable.

Yes both BMD US4K can do this as well as the high-end Avid/BMD Artist IO.
