I just started with a “new” system, using Fusion 7 and VegasPro 20. In Fusion6 I always rendered to .MOV, but just learned that VegasPro20 doesn’t recognize Quicktime files, and it doesn’t seem to like AVI files, either. It looks like the only other options in Fusion are to render numbered still images, which I find hard to believe.

Is there a way to render a single movie file (like I did with .MOVs) instead of rendering a jillion still images?

    Thank you…

    Hi Kelly,

I seem to recall that Magix has moved ‘Quicktime’ to what they call a ‘deprecated feature’ in Vegas Pro (later versions). I think you can re-enable it if you choose. Look under ‘Options->Preferences->Deprecated Features’

Yeah, I ran into that issue when I switched from Fusion to Vegas too. Instead of using .MOV, I found that exporting as an .MP4 or .WMV worked way better since Vegas Pro handles those formats without a hitch. Just head to the render settings in Fusion and pick one of those options. It saved me from the pain of sorting through a ton of still images, which is just a hassle.

But the things is, you get better compression quality, by first rendering to an uncompressed single file format, and then making making your .mov or .mp4 from that frame sequence.
