Output NTSC via FW to Canopus ADVC 110
I have a MAC book Pro 2.1 – 2.33Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM
OSX 10.4.11. FW 800 and 400 inputs.I’m using a G-Raid 500G external drive. Using Meai100 Producer ver 12.1I connected a Canopus 110 via FW400 and the G-Raid via the FW800. When attempting playback for NTSC output via the Canopus I would get the Apple message “could not play becasue the CPU was unable to process video quickly enough”, also the M100 message “Realtime playback error occured when there was no item to render”.
The G-Raid people said you need another FW processor such as an Express 34 card adapter, which I acquired, used, and was confronted with the same problem.
Any suggestion?

Tell us more about the footage you are working with…. (CODEC/NTSC or PAL, etc.)
We use producer on a G4 1.67 laptop with a similar configuration and no issues.
(Maxtor 1 TB Raid 0 on the FW 800 and a Canopus ADVC 110 on the FW400)-C
I edit video. I post sometimes.
I fix things. I eat marshmallows.
I play drums. I drink scotch.
I like TV.Done typing now.

Everything I do is SD and NTSC. I acquire in either DV, DVCpro, or Media100 SD. Rendering in motion jpeg. Oddly, FCP will output NTSC via the Canopus using the laptop FW 400 and 800 ports without having the CPU freeze or stutter. However when I connect the G-raid via the express 34 card (FW 800) and run FCP, it does freeze. I can never get M100 producer to output NTSC via the Canopus in any configuration without the CPU being unable to keep up.
