Output meter in Vegas 7 mixer will not oscillate
Hey everyone. I finally joined the COW since I couldn’t stand
you all having all the fun–. While many of you
have moved on to newer versions of Vegas believe it or not
I still enjoy Vegas 4 and 7–(4 allowing almost
microscopic isolation and cutting of wavefile mistakes
that 7 does not esp. critical in editing my narrations..
and believe me I’ve tried to do that in 7 and can’t.)As to wavefiles and mixing on 7 here’s my problem: when
watching the mixer window for a bus or the master–the
output meter will naturally move up and down with each db
change unless I put compression on or level all my peaks out–
but this attribute has recently stopped (on both 4 & 7 as I
cross ref files and finish on 7)… and I want it back.
All it does now is hold at static peaks. I have checked
and re-checked hold peaks and valleys, taken all compression
or effects off and created virgin files to get the jumpy meter
back– But it refuses. I need that function to control pin point
levels in editing voice since I can manually control a peak
where I want it with the volume envelope.I have a younger audio
engineer associate who has all the bells and whistles at his
studio to level my tracks for the final but I want to play
with this myself…How can I get the jumping
output meter back ?? Thanks/Vance.
