  • Outline text with image filling text

    Hi,

I am filling a text layer with video below it on the timeline. I have the video layer track matte selected as ‘alpha’, showing the video through the text. I’m trying to put an outline around the text to make it stand out. I imagine it’s very simple, and I’ve tried all sorts of things and can’t get it to work.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Jake

If it’s only a few words or times you need to do this, I’d just duplicate the text layer and switch the fill off and turn the stroke on.

If it’s going to be a lot of text layers, I would probably come up with a precomp-text scheme, so that I only have to change one layer in the precomp and have it ripple into my final comps.

    John,

Duplicating the text and turning the stroke on worked. Problem solved.

    Thank you!
