i have drawn a vine, which i would like to make a copy of and use as an inner outline which i can fill with different colours. i have tried making a copy and then using the scale tool. is it because it is a complex, curvy shape it will not ‘fit’ inside. any help would be appreciated.

    Hi there,
I’m not sure if I understand exactly what you are trying to do, could you post a picture?

To get inner outlines only, use your original shape as a mask on top of a stoked and filled version of your path. Using the appearance palette is very very very handy if you need multiple strokes and fills.

Offset path is usefule, btu the contolr you get form adjusting the stroke values in your appearance palette is much quicker and accurate when doing revisions whiel designing.
