Outline on 3D comp
So i have create a basic 3D box, and i want to add an outline to it, as the box is same colour as background. I need the outline to follow the edges of the box as it spins in 3D, not the edges of the individual layers that make up the box within the comp. I tried applying a stroke effect to comp but it seems to do nothing…

You could duplicate the (pre)comp, put it under your box layer, fill with black and use minimax to expand the edges, methinks.

The Stroke effect works on masks, not on the alpha channel of a layer.
You could use the Stroke layer style to do what you’re describing, though.
