Does anyone know if there is a setting in FCP 5.02 that will produce a Black Burst Signal, etc. that will allow my NTSC monitor to stay in sync?

Thanks. I appreciate any insight and info you are able to share

You need a black burst generator. Nothing in FCP.

How do you have your monitor conected to your Mac? Monitors do not need a black-burst but a stable video signal to be in sync. A black-burst is mainly used to yinc desk, studio cameras (gen-lock) etc. The BlackMagic for instance have a black-burst generator mainly used to get in sync the desk used to capture. The video-out of the video card (HDI,SDI, RGB, Components, Composit..) that you swith to the monitor should keep it in sync.
    Cheers,

If you want a blackburst signal for some reason, just load up and output Slug. Blackburtst is literally just a normal video signal with the entire image black.

But as mentioned above that’ won’t be any consolation to an “out of sync monitor”. And it doesn’t have any relevance to anything else in the world because you can’t output more than one signal from FCP.
