I’m running AE CS3, it’s been working fine on the most recent Leopard for the past year, but recently I’ve opened different projects and all of them are saying as I open the sequence or try to move to a new frame on the timeline, “After Effects: Out of memory. (2097152K requested, 2097152K available) ( 5027 :: 3 )

I’ve fixed disk permissions, altered and cleared the memory/cache settings, disabled multiprocessing and OpenGL, and started AE w/ Shift to delete prefs. Any other suggestions?

Running Leopard on 3.2 Ghz 8-core w/ 16 MB RAM.

Hmm, I uninstalled AE, reinstalled, and upon opening the project, it now still gives a memory error w/ the same 5027 :: 3 code, but now instead of saying “After Effects: Out of Memory” it says “After Effects: not enough memory to create Preview Buffer.” Any ideas how to fix this?

Okay, I had a preview AE CS4 installed, so I uninstalled that. I also went into the CS3 plug-ins folder and I had created a couple of folders for Plugins_Removed and Effects_Removed. I put parentheses around those folders since I read that’s how to get AE to ignore loading the contents of those folders, and put my AJA Kona plugins in there just in case. I restarted CS3 and had it delete preferences again, and now it all loads okay.

If you’re on a Mac w/ CS3, you have to run the update to enable OpenGL previews since 8.0.0 didn’t support OpenGL.
