AHH! AE has run out of memory 2 now while trying to render the same thing. Does anyone know why this keeps happening? I have a deadline tomorrow morning and I cant make it through a render! My comp has a TB of space and 2 gigs of memory. ARG!!

If you have way more memory than AE says it needs, sometimes you just need to relaunch AE. I used to get that every now and then.

If you’re really running out of memory, as indicated by your OS (Task Manager or Activity Monitor), then you should render to a still sequence (to preserve rendered frames) and use the Secret prefs to purge during Make Movie. To do that, hold down shift when accessing prefs>general, and keep the key down until the last dialog box appears. Then choose “secret” at the bottom of the prefs list.

Once your still sequence is done, re-import and render to a Quicktime or whatever. That’ll be fast.

    Will that help?

I hope it will, I’m trying it right now. I dont understand why AE would do this all of a sudden. I have never had this problem before. I used to run AE with about a gig of memory but I guess that wasnt a good idea. Now its around 99mb, Ill let you know how it worked out. THANK!!!
