Out of Memory on Export
A week ago, I could render/export my projects with no problems. Now it seems I can’t export any of them with out getting “Out of Memory” errors. This happens at about 70% into the export. I get this error on exporting to any form of AVI. If I export to an mpeg2 or windows media, I get “Premiere failed to return a frame”, also at about 70% of the export. The projects I do are about 5 minutes with about 9500 frames in length consisting of AVI clips and photoshop images along with a background mp3 file. I have cleaned all the temp and cache files. I’ve tried to play with pagefile settings in XP. Also tried relocating the scratch file locations in Premiere. All to no avail. I also added another 1 gig of memory to the pc bringing it to 2 gig. This made no difference either. I’ve also killed all unnecessary processes in memory. (I don’t think that “Out of Memory” in premiere really means RAM. It is looking more like a hard drive or XP resource issue. Yet I have 89 gig free on the project hard drive. Like I said… a week ago I could export anything with no issues and only having 1 gig of memory. Now the same projects won’t export without error. All other applications on the PC run with no problems.
Current specs:
Premiere Pro 2.0
Sony Vaio RB42G P4 3.0 gig XP Media Edition SP2
2 gig of memory
250 gig hard Sata 7200 rpm drive with 89 gig free…project drive
100 gig Sata 7200 rpm boot OS drive with 63 gig free.Has anyone run into this? I really would hate to do a clean install of XP/Premiere… but It’s starting to look that way.
Thanks for any help/ideas.
Keith
