  • Out of Memory Errors when cutting mesh

    Hey all,

Anyone experience “Out of memory errors” when pushing, pulling points or cutting a mesh? I get them quite a bit. I am working with Version 11.0. We thought is was OS X and installed Snow Leopard but it did not solve the issue. I have a whopping 16GB of RAM installed so this is a ridiculous error to be getting. I am working on a mesh, medium resolution of a humanoid however I have gotten the error in other files as well. In some cases, it eventually results in an application crash.

I made sure the app is set to 64bit in the info window for the C4d Application. Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Brian

You shouldn’t get that error unless you have a zillion polygons in that mesh. How heavy is the object? Is it in hypernurbs? Anything else in the scene? First thing I would try is disabling OGL and see if that helps. I’d also send it along to Maxon tech support.

Hey Adam, thanks for the input – I never had open GL active so I can rule that one out. The mesh is quite a bit less than the Meg mesh that comes with C4d and I have it subdivided 1 time with hypernurbs. Of course, when I am working with point mode or cutting the mesh, I turn of HN. Later in the day, as I was working with this same file, I was making cuts to another part of this model and had no problems at all.

Is Cinema known to conflict with any other application?

    Thanks!

I don’t know of any program conflicts. Cinema is quite stable in general. Could be you just had a file that got corrupted for some reason.
