I don’t know if the utility is misreading it or if FCP is not interacting with the OS properly or what. I can’t help thinking this is related to the problems we’re having. I’d just love to know….”
Tom,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I’m glad you seemed to have fixed your issues. I would have told you to do the same thing that seems to have fixed you up.
FCP actually handles large projects quite well, even beter than Avid in my opinion, and without slowing up at all in most instances. However, in some cases, especially on long-term projects that get revised over and over and wind up with many stored timelines, the database can become corrupt and then crazy things start to happen. That’s what you’re seeing in your case.
Now you know what to look for and how to fix it… That’s about 98% of the battle. The rest should be just creative from here on out.

May 30, 2008 at 2:04 am[Dan Riley] “The reason for doing all this is most likely your project is too large.
That’s when memory issues start to creep up.”Actually Dan, I don’t think its really a project file that’s too large, but rather a project file with a corrupt database. In any case, you gave precisely the right directions.
