    Hi,

I’m starting to see some weird drop-outs and artefacts on my Mini-DV tapes, and I’m starting to get a bit worried.

I have a wireless ADSL [WiFi] right next to my tapes, and I hope that it’s not causing any problems. I know that speakers and the like play havoc with tapes because of their magnetic fields, but could a Wifi router cause any problems?

    Thanks,

    Wayne

I’d suspect dirty (or worn) heads in the camcorder or deck, or a misalignment between units, long before I’d think something was partially erasing DV tapes.

I can barely get digital tapes to erase on a powerful “bulk tape eraser”.

We’ve had wifi running almost 2 years now with no issues.
