OT-Trying to determine old RCA typeface
Posted by Tom Matthies on April 10, 2009 at 6:13 pmI’m trying to find out what typeface RCA used on the badges on their broadcast equipment in the 50’2 and 60’s. I have a project and I need to emulate the look of that old typeface.

April 10, 2009 at 6:15 pmUmm…
That would be the “Color Television” graphic on the side of the camera and, obviously, not the WGN part of it.

April 10, 2009 at 7:58 pmThe RCA Logo isn’t just a font, its a designed logo. They took something like Venetian 301 Bold and then created a logo from that by flipping the R to make an A. Then stretching parts etc. Same with the later RCA Logo. Graphic artists had more time back then to really design things. Today, it seems like everything is rush, rush rush.
