Sorry for being OT, but since I’m shooting footage for use in AE, thought maybe someone here could offer advice. In Stu’s book there is a picture of a carpenter’s protractor being used to check the camera angles for shooting special effects for compositing. The only protractors of this sort I’ve been able to find have magnetic backs and bases, fairly strong magnets from what I can tell. I’m concerned about holding this close to my DVX even if it’s only for a few seconds to check the angles. Will these magnets affect my camera? Is there a type of these without magnets? Am I worrying about nothing?

    Thanks
    Steven

You probably got your answer on the DVXUser forum. Nevertheless, did you check Lee Valley for what you need?

Never heard of Lee Valley! Regardless, I don’t see anything on their site. Thanks for the response though!
